2017-18 Student Positions

At Upperline School of Code, our mission is to increase opportunity by empowering students through connection. We believe that code can be used to build community, open doors, and forge connections. As a student in high school, you have the exciting opportunity to become an Upperline Digital Ambassador! 

Digital Ambassadors will be mentored and supported in the founding of coding clubs and hack-a-thon teams at their respective schools. They will work with Upperline staff to identify content gaps in existing resources based on the needs of students at their schools

Requirements:

  • Currently in high school in the greater New York City area
  • Graduate of at least 1 Upperline camp
  • Member of, willing to join, or willing to establish a coding camp at your school

Responsibilities:

  • Found or join a coding club at your school
  • Bring a school team to Upperline workshops, coding meetups, or hack-a-thons
  • Connect other students at your school to workshops, scholarships, and other opportunities
  • Communicate with Upperline team about content gaps, so that we know what blogs to write and videos to make

Ideal candidates will:

  • Fearlessly communicate with teachers at their schools to found or expand a coding club
  • Proactively include a diverse group of students in coding opportunities at their schools
  • Read various computer science newsletters to identify coding opportunities for students at their schools
